Police are not yet sure what led to an early Saturday morning fatal shooting at 2217 North James H. McGee Boulevard.
“When we arrived on the scene, we found an adult male face down inside the bar” said Police Lt. Kenneth Beall. He said the victim was shot just outside the back door of Club 22 in the upper chest area. He came inside the bar and collapsed.
Beall said there “were probably four to five shots, possibly six shots fired.”
He added that the weapon appeared to be a medium-calibre handgun.
Beall said police have a suspect’s name and a vehicle description. But there have been no arrests.

A false report about stolen money filed Friday afternoon ended up in the arrest of a California man and the seizure of a pound-and-a-half of marijuana valued at $8,000 on the street.
A man came to the Dayton Police Department’s East Patrol Operations Division to report the theft of a large amount of money, Lt. Wendy Stiver said. That report brought police to an apartment complex at 2456 Wyoming Ave.
Officers determined from a tip that theft actually involved marijuana and that someone brought at least a pound-and-a-half of marijuana from California to attempt to sell it in this area.
Police arrested the male who filed the report and took him to the Montgomery County Jail, where he was detained pending charges of making a false police report and drug trafficking. That male was determined to be 20 and from California, Stiver said.
"The claim was suspicious to officers, so they started asking questions and that led them to this apartment complex and ultimately they were tipped off to the marijuana," she said.
An amount of cash was recovered, Stiver said. Police would not release the exact amount.
The suspect told police that the value of the drugs was $8,000 on the street. "That's apparently the value in California," Stiver said.
The vehicle the man was in was towed and will be processed by detectives for drugs. A second male who had been in the vehicle with the 20-year-old was released.
A third person involved in the incident took the marijuana out of an apartment at the address, but returned it, Stiver said.
Police praised the management at the apartment for cooperating with police, which Stiver said helped in the discovery of the marijuana.
